No, we don’t charge for initial meetings.

It would be helpful to bring details of your current financial situation, existing investments/pensions, but we will advise you at the time of booking if there is anything specific we need.

In the initial meeting is we explain the services, charges and advice process, and will discuss your requirements to establish if we can help you.

Each meeting type on the website has a specific time set-aside.

No, since the initial meeting is focused on helping you to understand the advice process, establish your goals, and whether you wish to proceed further. You are not required to sign-up to any services.

No, currently we do not have any female advisers employed.

If your adviser is away, we will provide alternative advisers to answer any queries.

You are welcome to engage your adviser as much or as little as you feel necessary, although advisers are required to hold a review with each client at least once per year.

Depending on the service level a client chooses, they will receive a full cashflow forecast. The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate cashflow modelling.

If your circumstances change, then please call us as soon as you can, and we will work with you to adapt any agreements we have in place to suit your new circumstances.

Yes, we often work alongside accountants and solicitors.

If you adviser leaves the company, we will contact you and make a recommendation for a new adviser.

If you have chose to work with Fane Financial Services on investments managed on a web-based platform, you will be able to access these through the internet and a mobile application.

You should aim to meet with your adviser a minimum of once per year, but meetings are also available on request.

Fees and value

Yes, an initial consultation is FREE OF CHARGE. Any subsequent meetings will be subject to potential charges.

We have a variety of service levels, and options for payment.  These are best explained at the point that we understand the scope of work, and can provide the appropriate service fees for the proposed work.

An advice-only charge, where no further action is required outside of a recommendations letter, but where a full review and provision of recommendations is provided, would be charged at £750 plus VAT.

We can offer fees based on a percentage of assets managed, or based on the work undertaken, and can discuss this with each client on a case-by-case basis.

In line with FCA guidelines, we do not receive commission on investment products.  We receive payment from our clients for the advice provided in line with our Terms of Business, agreed in advance with each client.  We are completely transparent about the fees involved, and each client must agree any fees in advance of charges.

Some products, such as protection policies, do provide fees or commissions directly to the adviser, and these are documented to each client in advance of any commitment to proceed with such a policy.

In some circumstances, it is a requirement to add VAT to services, and in others it is not applicable.  Depending on the service you receive, we will explain whether VAT is chargeable on any invoices.

We review our prices regularly to ensure that we provide a competitive service.

We provide a Terms of Business document in the first meeting and explain our charging process in detail.
